YARDATLAS HELP

How YardAtlas works

YardAtlas is a driver-built directory for finding and sharing useful yard information before a delivery.

Why I built YardAtlas

I’m a current, active truck driver, and I built YardAtlas specifically for other active drivers. The goal is to make the last block of a trip easier by sharing practical information about where to enter, check in, stage, park, and find the docks once you arrive on site.

Directory listings and approved guidance

A directory listing identifies a company, site, and address. It may not have any driver information yet, and is labeled Directory listing — driver information needed.

Approved truck guidance is information added by drivers and accepted by a moderator. It can include entrances, exits, docks, check-in points, parking, hazards, paths, and driver notes.

Do I need an account?

You can search, open locations, and make guest contributions without signing in. Guests share a three-submissions-per-hour browser allowance across new locations, map-edit batches, driver notes, and outdated-location reports. One pin/path batch counts as one submission.

Sign in with ChatGPT to use account features such as Saved places, driver discussion, accuracy confirmations, and My submissions. Signed-in contributors can also track their submissions there.

Adding or correcting map guidance

The shared editor is used for both Add a missing location and Suggest an edit. The site pin marks the property. Truck-access pins mark entrances, exits, docks, check-in points, parking, hazards, and other guidance.

Select a pin tool and tap the map as many times as needed. Select Draw entry path or Draw exit path to add a path by tapping points in driving order. Review the drafts, then send the batch for approval.

Existing pins can be proposed for movement, instruction or type changes, or removal. New pins and paths remain drafts until submitted. These are proposals; they do not change the public map directly.

What happens after submission?

A submission starts as pending and remains private from the public map until a moderator decides it. A moderator may approve it, reject it, or return it with Needs changes. Returned submissions can be corrected and resubmitted.

Signed-in contributors can use My submissions. Guests receive a private status link after a confirmed submission; save that link to check whether it is awaiting review, needs changes, approved, or rejected.

Use current on-site instructions

Community guidance is not truck-safe navigation. Always follow current signs, site personnel, legal restrictions, and dispatch instructions. Conditions can change after information is submitted or approved.
